Assuring transformation data collection Directions 2015
Directions given by NHS England requiring NHS Digital to establish and operate a system for the collection of information to be known as the assuring transformation data collection system.
Purpose
To monitor progress towards the goals that services should be local, care and treatment should be appropriate and there should be a substantial and sustained reduction in hospital placements for people with a learning disability or autism.
Legal basis
Sections 254(1), (3) and (6), 262(3)(b), 262(7) of the Health and Social Care Act 2012.
The Directions came into force on 1 November 2015.

The Assuring Transformation collection holds information about people with a learning disability and autistic people who are receiving treatment or care as inpatients in a mental health hospital.
