Diagnostic imaging data set Directions 2016
Directions given by NHS England requiring NHS Digital to establish and operate a system for the collection of information to be known as the diagnostic imaging data set service information system.
Purpose
To contribute to work to help understand how outcomes for patients can be improved (such as life expectancy and quality of life), particularly for those with cancer, conditions that affect the muscles, bones, and joints and neurological conditions (for example stroke, epilepsy, dementia, or multiple sclerosis).
Legal basis
Sections 254(1), (3) and (6) of the Health and Social Care Act 2012.
The Directions came into force on 25 July 2016.
