The migration and continued operation of the Unify2 collections through Strategic Data Collections Service Direction 2017
A Direction given by the Secretary of State for Health requiring NHS Digital to establish the migration of the Unify2 collections listed in Annex A onto NHS Digital's Strategic Data Collections Service (SDCS) and continue the operation of these collections through this service.
This Direction and associated documents make reference to Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs).
In accordance with the Health and Care Act 2022 and the Health and Care Act 2022 (Commencement No. 2 and Transitional and Saving Provision) Regulations 2022, as of 1 July 2022, CCGs are abolished and their statutory obligations will be managed by Integrated Care Boards.
These obligations include all continuing requirements, including those to submit data to NHS Digital as set out in this Direction and associated documents.
Purpose
To support the Government's drive towards the integration of health and social care.
Legal basis
Sections 254(1), (2)(a) and (6) of the Health and Social Care Act 2012 (the Act)1 and Regulation 32 of the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (Constitution and Functions) and the Health and Social Care Information Centre (Functions) Regulations 2013.
The Direction came into force on 1 December 2017.
