Accessing your data via the Clinical Audit Platform (CAP)

Registered users can access the data that your organisation has entered into the audit by following the steps in this guide.

1. Log in to the clinical audit platform

Access the online tool

Sign in to your account for the NDA:

2. Go to Reporting

Select Reporting from under the National Diabetes Audit heading:

3. Select Extract

Select Extract from in the Reporting section:

4. Select the report type

Select the type of report required from the Extract section:

5. Select the dates for the report

Enter the date range that you want to view (the default is from the start of the audit to today) and click Export. 

The date fields refer to the date that the record was created, rather than the observation dates in the records.


6. View all records within the time frame range

A CSV file will download, which shows all the submitted records for your organisation code. 

When opened as an Excel sheet, you can filter on the columns to find the information you need. 


7. Add or search for patient records

There are two ways to amend the data:

Via manual record amendments

To go back to add or search patient record, click on NDA home, then Add/Search for Patient Record. This will allow you to look for the NHS number of the person and update the record.
