Data collections and data sets

NHS England has responsibility for collecting data from across health and social care.

We help healthcare professionals submit data and offer guidance for using our data collection systems.

In line with our information governance standards, we are committed to ensuring patient data remains confidential.

Data collections

Our data collections cover many aspects of health and social care and include information from NHS trusts, local authorities and independent-sector organisations.

Data sets

Our national data sets collect information from care records, systems and organisations on specific areas of health and care. This is used to inform policy and monitor and improve care.

Tools for submitting data

Our data tools allow you to submit, send and transfer data to support analysis and reporting.
