The Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) allows prescribers, such as GPs and practice nurses, to send prescriptions electronically to a dispenser (such as a pharmacy) of the patient’s choice in England.

This eRD data CSV file is a selection of raw data taken from the ‘data table’ page of the dashboard to enable further analysis. Please note the ‘CCG Code’ and ‘CCG’ fields are now labelled as ‘Place Code’ and ‘Place’.

EPS prescriptions data
Data relating to prescription transactions is downloaded daily from NHS Spine and made available in machine-readable (.csv file) format for secondary use. The data relates to prescriptions created, dispensed and claimed and is described in this meta data file.
Prescription report notice
Due to an issue affecting the daily feed of prescriptions data we receive we have been unable to update the report with data from 26 May 2025 onwards.
We are now receiving this data but are working to resolve some gaps which still exist within this period.
We apologise for any inconvenience this has caused and hope to have the reports fully updated as soon as possible.

This information is also available in a Power BI report which includes daily and weekly profiles.
