About this information standard
This standard applies to any NHS setting in England where automatic identification and data capture (AIDC) technologies are used as enablers to improve patient safety, ensure greater clinical effectiveness and drive operational efficiencies. It should be used by all NHS organisations when procuring, implementing and using such technologies.
This information standard is published under section 250 of the Health and Social Care Act 2012.
