DAPB4081: Adult Social Care Client Level Data Set

This information standard supports the collection of regular and comprehensive client level data to enable person-centred, sustainable innovation for adult social care.

About this information standard

This is a new information standard commissioned by the Department of Health and Social Care to support the collection of regular and comprehensive data to enable person-centred, sustainable innovation for adult social care.

The standard specifies a client level, core data set to enable the capture of adult social care activity across England, building on the pilot and voluntary submissions received to date.

Note that this information standard has evolved from the work undertaken by NHS Digital in respect of an existing aggregate data collection (DAPB2161 Guidance (NHS Digital)), the Short and Long Term collection) but concentrates on mandating this core client-level data set in order to provide greater insight and linkage potential.

This information standard is published under section 250 of the Health and Social Care Act 2012. An Information Standards Notice (see below) provides an overview of scope and implementation timescales, and the requirements specification provides further detail for those who have to implement the information standard.
