DAPB4086: Wound Care Information Standard
An Information Standard defining how to record the clinical assessment, observations and treatments delivered for the management of wound care.
About this information standard
Wound care is provided by a wide range of professionals working as a care team that can include doctors, nurses, podiatrists, and others, as well as people themselves and their carer(s). As such it is vital that information is shared so that care is optimised. This standard commissioned by NHS England's National Wound Care Strategy Programme (NWCSP) and developed in partnership with the Professional Record Standards Body (PRSB) is to support sharing information digitally to deliver safe and effective care. It provides a framework for clinicians to record the clinical assessment, observations and treatments delivered.
This information standard is published under section 250 of the Health and Social Care Act 2012. An Information Standards Notice (see below) provides an overview of scope and implementation timescales, and the requirements specification provides further detail for those who have to implement the information standard.
