How we use the information (processing activities)

To monitor and evaluate post-COVID assessment services and understand outcomes of patients with long COVID who require specialist care. To drive improvements in service delivery including access, impact and reducing inequalities. The data will also be used to produce monthly anonymous statistical publications and dashboards.

Data from this collection may be shared with organisations for planning, commissioning and research purposes where there is a benefit to health and social care. Organisations will need to apply and gain approval through our Data Access Request Service.

How long the data is kept 20 years minimum, with regular reviews in accordance with the NHS Records Management Code of Practice and NHS England Corporate Records Retention and Disposal Schedule.

UK GDPR Article 6(1)(c) - legal obligation (the COVID-19 Public Health Directions 2020, under s.254 of the Health and Social Care Act 2012).

Article 9(2)(h) - management of health care systems or services, supplemented by DPA 2018, Schedule 1, Part 1, paragraph 2 – Health or social care purposes,

and

Article 9(2)(i) – public health, supplemented by DPA 2018 Schedule 1 Part 1, paragraph 3 - public health;
