Access to crisis care via NHS 111 - Mental Health, September 2024

Official statistics in development

Introduction of resubmissions for this publication from 2nd December 2024

We will be implementing a resubmission window to allow providers to resubmit historical data since April 2024 for this publication for each reporting period from April 2024 data onwards from the 2nd December 2024.

This is to allow organisations the chance to revise/resubmit their data when required. Please be mindful that this will mean there will be more than one open reporting period on SDCS that you can submit data against. At the point of the submission, there will be a drop down list of the available reporting periods; it is important that the correct one is selected to avoid data being submitted against the incorrect period. SDCS utilises a submission process where the newest upload will overwrite the previous submission made for any given reporting period, and so once you have revised data ready to submit you can simply reupload your data to replace the previous submission.

If you have any data or definitional queries, please direct them to [email protected]

Data files

Please note, any resubmissions or new submissions for historical data will not be reflected in the data CSV files on these publication pages until the data for these months become stable. Please use the PBI dashboard for the most up-to-date data for all months as the dashboard will be updated with any resubmissions from April 2024 onwards each month. Depending on when your resubmission was flowed, you may need to wait a month until this is reflected in the PBI dashboard.

Summary

This publication introduces a newly established data collection for demand and call handling data items related to accessing crisis care via the NHS111 'select MH option'. This data will provide important insights into how accessible the crisis care system is helping to identify any gaps or inefficiencies. Additionally, the data will be used to support demand and capacity planning across services enabling better resource allocation and service provision. Benchmarking data will also be made available allowing providers to compare their performance and identify areas for improvement. This information will be invaluable for both operational decision making and strategic planning across the crisis care system.

Highlights

Experimental Statistics

These statistics are classified as ‘Experimental’ and should be used with caution. Experimental statistics are new official statistics undergoing evaluation. They are published in order to involve users and stakeholders in their development and as a means to build in quality at an early stage. More information about Experimental statistics can be found here.

The data presented in this publication is as it has been submitted by providers. Any values inputted incorrectly have not been retrospectively changed. This may cause some values to not add up to the submitted totals. We will be working with providers to improve the quality of the data submitted. Please use this data with caution.
