The latest GP Earnings and Expenses enquiry provides a detailed study of the earnings and expenses for both full and part-time GPs working in the UK as either a contractor or salaried GP in 2012-13.
Results are based on data from HM Revenue and Customs' Self Assessment tax records and can be found in each section of the report as follows:
Section 1: UK Level GP Average Earnings and Expenses
Section 2: Country Level Breakdown for Contractor, Salaried and Combined GPs.
Section 3: Distributional Results for Contractor and Salaried GPs.
Section 4: Detailed Results for Contractor, Salaried and Combined GPs.
Section 5: Time Series for Contractor GPs.
The report is primarily used as evidence in remuneration negotiations and by the Review Body for Doctors' and Dentists' Remuneration. It has been agreed by the Technical Steering Committee (TSC), which is chaired by The HSCIC and has representation from the four UK Health Departments, NHS Employers, NHS England and the British Medical Association.
