Publication, Part of National Diabetes Audit: Non-Diabetic Hyperglycaemia, Diabetes Prevention Programme
Diabetes Prevention Programme: Non-Diabetic Hyperglycaemia, January 2023 to September 2023
Summary
The NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme (DPP) is a joint commitment from NHS England and Diabetes UK to deliver, at scale, evidence based behavioural interventions that can prevent or delay the onset of Type 2 diabetes in adults who have been identified as having non-diabetic hyperglycaemia (NDH).
This report presents the national audit findings, summarising registration and demographic information on people registered in GP Practices in England who have non-diabetic hyperglycaemia. Also presented are the numbers of people recorded in GP practices as having been offered DPP behavioural change courses up to the end of September 2023, and the numbers that have declined, or not declined, to attend these courses. Non-diabetic hyperglycaemia involves blood glucose levels that are above normal levels, but not in the diabetic range.
This release includes data for Detained Estates for the first time (121 eligible organisations). Detained Estates include prisons, young offender institutes, children's homes and immigration removal centres.
The report is for England only.
The data has not been through the full data assurance process that is carried out on the annual data, but is a provisional reflection of progress over this period.
