Change to the audit period
From the 2024/25 audit year, the NDA will report on a 12 month audit period, rather than a 15 month audit period. Where the audit period was from January of year 1 to March of year 2, it will now be April of year 1 to March of year 2. As such NDA data from 2024/25 onwards is not directly comparable to any published NDA figures from previous audit years.

Summary
The NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme (DPP) is a joint commitment from NHS England and Diabetes UK to deliver, at scale, evidence based behavioural interventions that can prevent or delay the onset of Type 2 diabetes in adults who have been identified as having non-diabetic hyperglycaemia (NDH).
This report presents the national audit findings, summarising registration and demographic information on people registered in GP Practices in England who have non-diabetic hyperglycaemia. Also presented are the numbers of people recorded in GP practices as having been offered DPP behavioural change courses up to the end of December 2024, and the numbers that have declined, or not declined, to attend these courses. Non-diabetic hyperglycaemia involves blood glucose levels that are above normal levels, but not in the diabetic range.
This release includes data for Detained Estates. Detained Estates include prisons, young offender institutes, children's homes and immigration removal centres.
The report is for England only.
The data has not been through the full data assurance process that is carried out on the annual data, but is a provisional reflection of progress over this period.
We are aware that some pathology laboratories have been affected by HbA1c analyser issues in 2024/25. These may have resulted in higher HbA1c results than would otherwise have been expected.
