National Pregnancy in Diabetes Audit Dashboard 2023 (01 January 2021 to 31 December 2023)
Audit
Summary
The National Pregnancy in Diabetes Audit (NPID) is a workstream of the National Diabetes Audit (NDA) and is managed by NHS England under an agreement with the Healthcare Quality Improvement Partnership (HQIP). The NDA is delivered by NHS England, in partnership with Diabetes UK and has been running since 2014.
The dashboard measures the quality of antenatal care and pregnancy outcomes for women with pre-gestational diabetes. It is intended to support local, regional and national quality improvement. The latest version of the dashboard reports on data collected for pregnancies that ended between 1 January 2021 and 31 December 2023 and includes data on continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) for the first time. Data are submitted by antenatal services in England and Wales.
Highlights
The data files which support the dashboard can be downloaded from the 'Resources' section of this page. These data files include the measures presented in the dashboard, split by national, regional and provider level.
Disclosure control has been applied to mitigate the risk of patient identification. Providers with 10 or more pregnancies are included in the dashboard and CSVs. Zeros are reported, and all numbers are rounded to the nearest 5, unless the number is 1 to 7, in which case it is rounded to 5. This allows for more granular data to be made available. Rounded numbers are used to calculate percentages therefore numbers may not sum as expected. Percentages are not calculated where the rounded denominator is 20 or less, and where numbers are small percentages are volatile and should be treated with caution.
