Out of Area Placements in Mental Health Services May 2019
Official statistics
Summary
This report presents findings from the Out of Area Placements in Mental Health Services May 2019 (OAPs) collection. The collection is expected to capture the details of all OAPs in England from both NHS and independent providers. NHS Digital is running this interim OAPs data collection in the Clinical Audit Platform (CAP) until the data becomes aligned and available from the MHSDS. The MHSDS is the chosen mechanism for the long term collection of this data.
A refresh of 2017-18 inappropriate OAP bed days by three month period for use in NHS England Quality Premium calculations can be found here: https://digital.nhs.uk/data-and-information/find-data-and-publications/supplementary-information/2018-supplementary-information-files/inappropriate-oap-days-in-rolling-three-month-groups-starting-with-march-2017-and-ending-with-march-2018-by-england-sending-provider-region-stp-and-ccg.
