Summary

Patients undergoing elective inpatient surgery for hip and knee replacement, funded by the English NHS are asked to complete questionnaires before and after their operations to assess improvement in health as perceived by the patients themselves. This publication is for Provisional Quarterly Patient Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) in England - April 2017 to March 2018.

PROMS data on Groin Hernia and varicose vein surgery ceased to be collected on 1 October 2017 following the consultation on the future of PROMs by NHS England. Full year, finalised data for April 2017 to September 2017 has been published for these procedures in a separate statistical release.
