This report shows prescribing trends for medicines prescribed in primary care in England for the treatment of diabetes for the period April 2005 to March 2015.
This is the latest in a series of annual reports published by the Health and Social Care Information Centre (HSCIC) on Prescribing for Diabetes in England, within primary care.
Diabetes is a high profile clinical area, as the prevalence is increasing and costs associated with treating patients with diabetes are also increasing.
Note: The last sentence of the second bullet point on page 4 in the Executive Summary has been corrected as at 14th August 2015 to show the total cost of prescribing for diabetes in 2005/06 as £513.9million.
The csv file has been corrected as at 1st September 2015 to replace organisation codes that were corrupted as part of the update on the 14th August.
