This statistical release is the annual report on the Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) programme. In addition, the report covers a range of demographic analyses including outcomes for patients of different ages, ethnic groups and separately for ex-British Armed Forces personnel. It contains further analyses on activity, waiting times, and outcomes such as recovery in 2016-17 annual data.
IAPT is run by the NHS in England and offers NICE-approved therapies for treating people with depression or anxiety.
This publication builds on and supersedes the 2016-17 IAPT annual data, originally released on 30th November 2017.
