Summary

IAPT is run by the NHS in England and offers NICE-approved therapies for treating people with depression or anxiety.

This statistical release makes available the most recent Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) monthly and quarterly data, including activity, waiting times, and outcomes such as recovery. 25 new measures have been introduced this month, based on the Work and Social Adjustment Scale (WSAS).

This release also includes reports from the IAPT integrated health pilot and the IAPT Employment Adviser pilot. Introduced in this month's publication are: 8 new data measures based on the employment status at the beginning and end of employment support; 2 new data quality measures providing additional context to the finished course of treatment data measures.

Alongside this month's publication are supplementary analyses, covering the financial years 2015-16 to 2017-18, that aim to capture additional measures of waiting times that can occur in an IAPT referral pathway.

Please note that that these numbers reflect activity in the month and are not all based on the same group of referrals. The proportion of referrals starting treatment within 6 weeks, mean treatment session, and the recovery rate are based on referrals completing a course of IAPT treatment in the month.
