Adoption Registration Service

This service helps adoptees and birth relatives check if someone has died in England, Wales or the Isle of Man. You can also use this service to share hereditary medical information with an adoptee's or birth relative's GP. Currently, only the medical information part of the service is operational.

The Adoption Registration Service:

checks for a Civil Death Registration in England, Wales or the Isle of Man for adoptees and birth relatives
allows information about hereditary medical conditions to be shared with adoptees or birth relatives through their GP

The Adoption Registration Service includes 2 services:

Service	Relationship
Death registration enquiries	Use this service to find out if a birth relative or adoptee is recorded as having died in England, Wales or the Isle of Man. This service is currently suspended.
Hereditary medical conditions	Use this service to share information about hereditary medical conditions with a birth relative or adoptee when direct contact is not possible. This service remains operational at this time.
