Manage assignable positions
Assignable positions are positions that can be assigned by sponsors directly to user profiles, without Registration Authority approval. This guidance explains how a Registration Authority user manages these assignable positions.
Which roles can do this?
- Registration Authority Manager
- Registration Authority Agent (Advanced)
What assignable positions are
Registration Authority Managers can delegate position assignment to sponsors using assignable positions. This allows a sponsor to directly assign positions to a user profile.
Sponsors set up with assignable positions can assign and revoke position assignments, and modify assignment start and end dates.
Note: only positions containing RBAC code B1300 (the RBAC code used for sponsors) can be designated with assignable position rights.
How to manage assignable positions
Only a Registration Authority Manager or Advanced Agent can configure which positions a sponsor can assign.
From the Care Identity Management home page, choose 'Manage access'.
In the list of positions, select the sponsor position you want to designate assignable positions to.
The position you select must include the RBAC code B1300 Approve RA Requests. If the position includes the correct RBAC code you will see it listed as an activity in the access profile section of the position details page.
Select the 'Edit position' button.
On the edit position screen, you'll see 'Assignable positions' within the access profile. Select the 'Change' link to the right.
You'll now see a list of positions that you can delegate to sponsors. Choose the positions you need from this list and select 'Continue'.
You'll be returned to the position details screen, where you'll see your selection now listed within the access profile. Select 'Save Position' to confirm your changes.
