Create a new Temporary Access Card (TAC) profile
You can use Temporary Access Cards (TACs) to avoid users losing access out of hours or in emergency settings.
To start creating a new TAC profile, on the Care Identity Management home page, select 'Create new profile'.
On the next screen, select 'Create TAC profile'.
Next you'll see a screen to add the details of the new TAC profile.
Choose a name for the profile
For the name of the profile, the organisation's ODS code and the letters 'TAC' will automatically be added to the front of the name you choose. You'll see these in the grey box to the left of where you will enter your chosen profile name.
If you want to show the new profile as belonging to a child organisation, you can use the 'Change' link in the top-right of the screen.
Selecting the child organisation there will change the prefixed name to the ODS code of the child organisation.
When you enter a profile name, make sure you choose a name that will be easily identifiable in your organisation.
The name you enter must begin with at least 2 letters. If you enter anything other than a letter in the first 2 characters you will see an error when you try to continue. This is because the name is saved as the equivalent of a family name in a standard profile and must follow similar validation rules (although you can include numbers after the first 2 characters in TAC profile names).
Complete the profile
You can enter the email address of a person who manages the TAC profile.
You can also enter a phone number and any extra notes you need. Select 'Continue' when you've finished entering details.
You'll now see a screen to check the details you've entered. When you're ready to complete the profile, select 'Create profile'.
You'll now see a confirmation message. To view the new profile you can select the profile name link.
You will now see the new profile within standard search results when you search for a profile.
