Key dates
IF-DLP Registration and IF-DLP Authentication were deprecated on 31 January 2024.
They will be retired on 6 January 2025.
What we're doing
On 31 January 2024:
- we reduced the support level for the IF-DLP Authentication service from Bronze SLA to 'Reasonable Endeavours'
- operational hours remain 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, with no guarantees around service uptime
On 6 January 2025:
-
the service will be retired and will no longer work
- users must follow the instructions below to ensure they can still access DLP after 6 January 2025
- if you have already followed the instructions below, you should access DLP via https://dsp-portal.national.nhs.uk
What this means for you
If you use the IF-DLP registration process
If you register other IF-DLP users, you'll need to consider how to support users registering for a full Care Identity profile before the service is retired.
You can do this using the Apply for Care ID service.
If you use IF-DLP Authentication
If you are a registered IF-DLP user, you'll need to investigate whether you can register for a Care Identity to access DLP:
- if you have a Care Identity profile but it is no longer active, contact your Registration Authority (RA) to re-register
- if you have an active Care Identity profile, contact your RA to request a role for use with the Data Landing Portal
- if you do not have a Care Identity profile, but your organisation has an RA, contact your RA to be set up via the Apply for Care ID service
See Find Your Registration Authority if you are not sure whether your organisation has an RA.
We strongly recommend that users access DLP using a Care Identity profile. However, if you are unable to use a Care Identity profile to access DLP, follow the steps below to register for access via NHS England applications.
If you cannot use Care Identity Service
You must:
- register for an NHS England Applications profile
- wait for your profile to be approved, which could take up to 2 days - you will be notified by email
- after registering and activating your account, go to NHS England Applications, search for 'Data Landing Portal' in the application name, and request access
- after submitting your access request for DLP your account should be approved within 2 working days
- contact your Data Services for Commissioners Regional Offices (DSCRO) to have it reviewed if you are unable to access DLP after this time - your DSCRO is typically the organisation that asked you to submit the collection, but if you don’t know who your DSCRO is please contact [email protected]
- from now on, you should access DLP via https://dsp-portal.national.nhs.uk using your NHS England Applications credentials
For additional information or assistance on registering and requesting access through NHS England Applications, please read the DLP Non-NHS User Registration & Access Request Guide below.
