MESH roadmap
Future changes planned and past changes delivered for MESH.
Strategy
MESH is currently undergoing transformation under the Spine Futures programme.
Our main objectives are:
- Modernise the underpinning infrastructure by migrating to cloud and separating the MESH codebase from Spine.
- Make it easier to use - currently onboarding, installing and managing is not as easy as it should be. We want to drive up the use of self service where we can, and to streamline the processes that are involved in accessing, installing and managing MESH products.
- Enable users to use the right tool for the right job. Currently due to product restrictions we have users forced to use the MESH Client product who are more suited to using the MESH UI product.
- Better understand the needs of our users so we can better prioritise ongoing feature improvements.
Roadmap
The project roadmap outlines crucial project stages, objectives and timelines that we are researching or planning to deliver in coming months.
Its aim is to make it easier to understand and encourage teams to work together to improve patient care and service delivery.
This roadmap was last reviewed by the team on 23 October 2023.
October to December 2023
- Move the remaining MESH management services to the cloud to make it easier to manage and maintain the service outside the Spine (this may slip into early next year due to change freeze over the winter period).
- Complete the migration of all users to the new MESH UI web service.
- Streamline the onboarding journey to make it more logical and to remove unneccessary steps.
January to March 2024
- Focus on self service to enable users to create and manage their own mailboxes.
- Make it easier to test API connections to the service to streamline the onboarding process.

In this section you can find project milestones that the service reached in previous years.
