NHS App document uploads

TPP users

The NHS App cannot view or amend health records or account permissions. The NHS App reflects your patients online account and records saved locally on your computer system. The practice is the administrator of the online account and only they have the authority and the ability to amend the patients’ records.

Your patient will see the following headings within the health record of their NHS App.

  • medicines
  • allergies and adverse reactions
  • consultations and events
  • test results (Past 6 months)
  • documents

The reason a patient may have zero or limited items to view is because the view from date needs amending by the practice. Remember to check the view from date for documents or test results.

Document downloads

The NHS App has certain criteria for documents which, when not met, will display an error message.

If the document is an image file type this is visible in the NHS account.

If the practices upload a document which is not an image file type, there is the option to download this file only.

The criteria for the GP's clinical system are:

1. It has to be smaller than 2 megabytes in file size
2. It has to be one of the following file types:

Available to view:
  • Bmp
  • Dib

Test results

Patient may only be able to see minimal data in this section and this could be because of a time restriction the system has set in place.
