ODS codes for Cancer Alliances

As requested by NHS England, ODS has set up codes for 21 new Cancer Alliances.

The Cancer Alliances are not organisations, but new geographical configurations/boundaries only – no services or routing mechanisms are attached to these codes (such as NHSmail, Endpoints, Messaging). They span CCGs and STPs (all within the footprint of each Cancer Alliance are ‘members’ of the Alliance). Find out more from the NHS England website.

The codes are set up with the same code framework/organisation type as current Cancer Networks. They will be published in our .csv files (eother, eotheraq, eotheram), as well as in XML, API and Portal.

NHS England have advised that Vanguards and current Cancer Networks are no longer part of the NHS infrastructure and have been replaced by the new Cancer Alliances. ODS will therefore liaise with stakeholders before closing these organisations in due course.
