Mental Health inpatients with a LOS of 365+ days, 2018 to present

This analysis looks at the number of people at the end of the financial year, 2018 to present, that had a Length of Stay (LOS) longer than 365 days. Separate figures have been produced for open referrals, discharges in the financial year and discharges in the month.

The number of mental health inpatients at the end of the given calendar year from 2018/2019 to present with a length of stay of 365 days or more.

Our response

Submissions to the Mental Health Services Data Set (MHSDS) from 2018 onwards.

The data is at England level and for all ages.

Length of stay is the difference between the start date of the hospital provider spell and the discharge date of the hospital provider spell.
