Request received

Request received for percentage of people with an autism diagnosis recorded in their GP records by GP practice-level deprivation.

Our response

In response we provided:

The percentage of patients recorded as having a diagnosis of autism is available from the Network Contract DES (NCDES) dataset. Each GP practice has been assigned a weighted average indices of multiple deprivation (IMD) score based on the IMD scores of the Lower layer Super Output Area (LSOAs) in which the people registered with the GP practice reside. GP practices have been assigned to an IMD decile, for example the 10% of GP practices with the lowest IMD score have been assigned to IMD decile 1 (most deprived), and the 10% of GP practices with the highest IMD scores have been assigned to IMD decile 10 (least deprived). Data is presented for December 2024.
