A count of non-elective inpatient spells at English hospitals occurring between 1/4/2020 and 31/3/2025 with a length of stay of at least 1 day and a recorded cause of 'falls', for specific acute treatment functions and patients aged 18 plus and 65 plus.

Our response

In response to a request from the Department of Health and Social Care for emergency admissions data, by local authority, provider and Integrated Care Board (ICB) for adults and patients aged 65+, to support delivery of the Better Care Fund (BCF).

We have provided:

A count of non-elective inpatient spells at English hospitals occurring between 1/4/2020 and 31/3/2025 with a length of stay of at least 1 day and a recorded cause of 'falls', for specific acute treatment functions and patients aged 18+ and 65+, by:

i) upper-tier local authority of residence,

ii) hospital provider,

iii) ICB of residence, and

iv) ICB of treatment.

Mid-year population estimates, published by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) are also included in the local authority and ICB of residence tables.
