The number of people referred for mental health treatment by a specialist:

  • currently still awaiting said treatment;
  • who have not yet had an initial appointment with a specialist; and
  • who have been waiting for 18 weeks or more for treatment.
  • The average (median) wait time for treatment for those who have been referred for mental health treatment by a specialist.

The number of people referred for ADHD assessment and/or treatment by a specialist:

  • currently still awaiting said assessment and/or treatment;
  • who have not yet had an initial appointment with a specialist; and
  • who have been waiting for 18 weeks or more for treatment.
  • The average wait time for assessment for those who have been referred for ADHD assessment.

The term 'specialist' is interpreted to mean any psychiatrist, psychologist, psychiatric nurse, therapist, counsellor or other person employed directly or engaged via contract by the NHS who specialises in mental health services.
