Ambulance Data Set: Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) Data

NHS Digital has been directed by NHS England to establish and operate a system for the collection and analysis of ambulance data. 

Data is required for the following activity:

• 111/999 emergency operations
  • data from Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems
• ambulance dispatch
  • data from Electronic Patient Record (EPR) systems.

This Notice covers the first phase of the implementation into live service, which is the CAD element of the Ambulance Data Set. 

Future updates to this Notice relating to second phase in which the EPR component of the data will be implemented into live, will be issued at a future date. Note that the EPR collection is still in its pilot stage.

This Notice is served on:

• Ambulance Services in England.

The Ambulance Data Set CAD data collection was piloted between November 2020 and 31 January 2022.

The CAD live collection started on 9 March 2022. Data items must be submitted daily (including weekends and statutory holidays) between 03:00 and 06:00.
