GP Patient Survey

Data Provision Notice to require NHS England to provide an extract of response data from the GP Patient Survey.

Overview

The data to be supplied to NHS Digital under this Notice is an extract of the GP Patient Survey response data collected by Ipsos MORI on behalf of NHS England. This is to support the production of a number of indicators being used to monitor progress against the NHS Outcomes Framework (NHS OF) and the Clinical Commissioning Group Outcomes Indicator Set (CCG OIS).

Legal basis


Period

Data is routinely collected via the GP Patient Survey (GPPS) from Ipsos MORI (http://www.gp-patient.co.uk), commissioned by NHS England.

The survey is carried out annually and results sent to NHS Digital once data is available (approximately 3 to 4 months after financial year end).

Data is required for the previous years 2018/19 and  2019/20, and then annually from 2020/21 onwards.

Data will be published within NHS OF in February of each year. For example, data collected relating to January to March 2021 would be published in February 2022.

Data will be published within CCG OIS in October of each year. For example, data collected relating to January to March 2021 would be published in October 2021.

Update: 31 August 2021: Version 2.0 of this Notice issued to (a) amend the wording around clarifying the weighting in the Data Quality section; (b) make the list of questions more specific and (c) enable the extract of 2018-19 data.
