Data Provision Notice to require the submission of data from GP Practices and Dental Practices to enable the monitoring of patient written complaints.

Overview

The data to be collected under this Notice relates to written patient complaints received by NHS primary care providers (GP and dental practices).

The data for GP practices is collected via the NHS Digital Strategic Data Collections Service (SDCS). The data for dental practices will be collected by the NHS Business Services Authority and passed to NHS Digital by secure transfer.

Workforce information Directions 2019

A Direction given by the Secretary of State for health requiring NHS Digital to establish and operate a system to be known as the Workforce Information System requiring NHS Digital for the collection and analysis of workforce data.

Period

This is an annual collection, with data submitted covering the previous financial year. For example, data collected during the current submission window will cover the period April 2020 to March 2021.

For this 2020-21 data collection, the submission window opens on 9 August 2021 and closes on 29 October 2021. Future submission dates will be announced on this page.
