Sexual and reproductive health activity dataset Direction 2017
A Direction given by the Secretary of State for Health requiring NHS Digital to establish and operate an informatics system for the collection and analysis of sexual and reproductive health data.
Purpose
To support the Government's Sexual Health Strategy objective to reduce unintended pregnancies. Monitoring of activity at CCG level enables commissioners to understand which of their population groups are accessing sexual and reproductive health services and the services they are receiving.
Legal basis
Regulation 32 of the National Institute for Health and Social Care Excellence (Constitution and Functions) and the Health and Social Care Information Centre (Functions) Regulations 2013.
NHS Digital must have regard to and comply with the Directions to NHS Digital to process Type 2 objections.
This Direction came into force 1 February 2017.
