Revisions policy

This revisions policy relates to the adult social care statistics collected by NHS England described on this page:

  • revisions to the data provided to NHS England by local authorities is only permitted during the data collection ‘refresh submission period’ (a period of time after the mandated submission deadline and before publication, where data providers have access to a data quality validation report). Once the deadline for the refresh window has passed no further changes can be made.

All Adult Social Care publications will be published by the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) from April 2026. Links to the publications will be provided when available.

Notice to social services

The 2025 September notice (previously the September letter) provides information for directors of adult social services and contacts for national data collections. The notice will include information on the mandated national adult social care data returns, and will now be published by the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) by the end of September 2025. A link will be provided on this page once available.
