Flowing Ambulance Data Set (ADS) data
All providers of unscheduled ambulance responses in England should flow to the Ambulance Data Set (ADS).
Preparing to flow ADS data: How to flow data via ADS API
ADS data flows from the Ambulance Service's Client to NHS Digital via the ADS API.
The ADS API was designed during the pilot phase of the Ambulance Data Set. Now that the ADS is functioning as a live service, the data from the Ambulance Services flows automatically to NHS Digital.
ADS data: What to flow
For information and guidance on what to flow via the ADS API, please see the Ambulance Analytics FHIR API web page.
ADS submission frequency
The data items are to flow daily between 3am and 6am.
Data re-submission
The submission of data from the respective Ambulance Services is automated and the latest submission overwrites the last.
It follows that there is no need to re-submit an open item as the next submission will correct it by default.
ADS implementation timescales 2022
February
CAD component of ADS implemented into live service.
By 30 September 2022
EPR component of ADS implemented into live service. This represents fully live service.
