Community Services Data Set Data Quality Submission Summary Tool

The Community Services Data Set (CSDS) Data Quality Submission Summary Tool (experimental version) is designed to improve readability and understanding of the CSDS validation reports that are provided after a submission on the Strategic Data Collection Service (SDCS) Cloud portal.

The current CSDS Data Quality Submission Summary Tool is an experimental version.

How to use this tool

This tool is designed to improve readability and understanding of the CSDS validation reports that are provided after a submission on the SDCS Cloud portal. The reject messages that are delivered within the validations file, and the warning messages within the data_quality file, can be summarised using this tool.

Further information on these reports is available in the SDCS Cloud Data Quality Guide.

  1. Upon opening the tool, ensure you enable content if you are prompted to do so. You may see this in a horizontal yellow bar near the top of the Excel workbook described as 'Macros have been disabled'.
  2. Make sure formulas are set to automatic. To check this, go to the formulas tab, calculation options and select 'Automatic'.
  3. Copy and paste your CSDS data validation report onto the ErrorCSV tab. Switch to the main tab and click the create error list button. You should then be presented with a summarised count and description of the messages from your file.

This tool will describe messages from CSDS version 1.6. As new versions of the CSDS dataset are released, this tool will be updated; please check you have the latest version of the tool before use.
