CSDS v1.6 Release
This month’s publication is the first to include CSDS v1.6 data . The main publication content including the December web content, files and dashboard is the last publication to use CSDS v1.5. The provisional January data included with this release is CSDS v1.6 (published on 21st March). All future releases will be CSDS v1.6. For more information, please see the Dataset versions explained page.

CSDS December 2022 Data Update
Data outputs originally published on 7th March for CSDS December 2022 were based on the primary rather than final data. This error has now been corrected and now correctly reflect the latest data submitted by providers for the month.

Referrals
Total Referrals
A service referral is a request for a care service to be provided for a person needing care. This could include patient self-referrals for an appointment to see or to be in contact with a care professional.
Across all submitters of referrals data, there were 1,285,040 referral requests in total during December 2022. Of these, 216,955 referrals were for children and young people, 353,685 referrals were for adults aged 19 to 64, and 713,250 were for adults aged 65 and over.
Patients with a referral
Across all submitters of referral data in December 2022, there were 904,035 patients with a referral received during the month, of which 191,480 were children and young people, 289,120 were adults aged 19 to 64, and 422,340 were adults aged 65 and over.
Referral Reason
Referral reason is submitted in 58.6% of records. Where recorded (excluding 'Reason for referral not known' and 'Missing Value / Value Outside Parameters'), the top 3 reasons for referral are Musculoskeletal Problems, Healthy Child Pathway & Haematology/Phlebotomy.
