New Deferred Payment Agreements
In 2018-19 there were 3,300 new DPAs agreed, of which 610 were loan style.
Top-up information was reported for 3,260 new DPAs within this reporting year, of which 70.7% (2,305) were provided with no top-up.
A DPA was not provided for 1,830 requests, of which 60.8% (1,115) were due to client reasons.

Reasons for the request (where the request resulted in a DPA being provided) were reported against 3,200 new DPAs in 2018-19, and 55.0% (1,760) of these were bridging loans to allow for the sale of the client’s property.

Regional analysis
Of the total new DPAs agreed in 2018-19, the North West region agreed 565 new DPAs, which was the highest figure reported regionally, accounting for 17.2% of the national total.
London agreed 150 (4.6%) new DPAs during the reporting year, which was the lowest number reported regionally.

The total value of the new DPAs agreed during 2018-19 was £47.9 million and the average value of the new DPAs was £15,000.
The North West reported the lowest average value at £9,000 compared with London which reported the highest (£31,000).
