General Practice Workforce, 30 April 2024

On 1 April 2024, 14 practices transferred from 03Q Sub ICB Location - NHS Humber and North Yorkshire ICB (Vale of York) - to 42D Sub ICB Location - NHS Humber and North Yorkshire ICB (North Yorkshire).

Consequently, staff FTE and headcount totals from these practices have moved in this release from NHS Humber and North Yorkshire ICB - 03Q to NHS Humber and North Yorkshire ICB - 42D. Users should consider this when comparing Sub-ICB level figures either side of 1 April 2024.

The 14 transferring practices are:

There are no changes of PCN. The three PCNs which these practices belong to will move with their constituent GP practices.

Three new job roles relating to the general practice workforce were recently added to the National Workforce Reporting Service (NWRS) and are included in these statistics for the first time in this release. They are: 

• Osteopath
• Trainee Pharmacy Technician
• Advanced Dietician Practitioner

Prior to this release, High Intensity Therapists and Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners were grouped in the Excel Bulletin tables as IAPT Staff but presented separately in the accompanying CSVs. From this release, both job roles have been renamed as NHS Talking Therapies Therapists and are presented as such in all publication resources. The same applies to the corresponding Trainee roles.

For the detailed practice-level CSV, this means that all fields relating to High Intensity Therapists and Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners have been removed, and replaced with a single set of fields for NHS Talking Therapies Therapists, with the same applying to fields relating to the corresponding Trainee roles.
