We have recently introduced a data quality measure into NWRS aimed at removing records which indicated that a member of staff had left a practice but the record had not been fully updated to reflect this. This measure focused on records which had a termination date entered in NWRS but the record had not been fully closed down in the following 6 months. We have investigated records which have been removed by the measure and believe it to be working as intended. Implementation of the measure may have contributed to a reduction in headline numbers in data published from April 2025 onwards.
