Publication, Part of

General Practitioner Workforce in Alternative Settings July 2019 - September 2019, Experimental Statistics

This publication series is discontinued

In August and November 2019, these new and experimental statistics on the General Practitioner Workforce in Alternative Settings were published. Experimental Statistics are Official Statistics released while still under development and user feedback helps evaluate their usefulness and suitability. The data underpinning these Experimental Statistics, provided by CCGs in aggregate form, is no longer collected. As the data provided a very limited and uncertain picture of GPs working outside of General Practice and due to concerns with the overall data quality, we are no longer able to publish these as Official Statistics.

Experimental Statistics

These are new and experimental statistics which are under development. We welcome feedback from users to help us evaluate their suitability and quality. Please send any comments to [email protected] including “GPs in Alternative Settings” in the subject line. Your feedback about these experimental statistics will help us evaluate their usefulness and inform our future plans.

While the experimental statistics designation should not be taken to indicate that the statistics are of poor quality, there are nonetheless a number of data quality considerations that affect the levels of confidence that may be bestowed upon the figures and users are advised to consult the Data Quality section of this release.
