Spotlight Report - Seasonal Flu, 2019/20
Summary
The outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19) has led to changes in the work of General Practices and work is being completed to understand the impact for Winter 2020. This spotlight report will include national and regional timelines to help understand previous activity regarding flu vaccinations and support planning.
Three enhanced service collections are included in this report:
Seasonal influenza vaccination programme, a monthly count of patients who have received a seasonal influenza vaccination using the recommended vaccine within the reporting period September 2019 to March 2020.
Childhood seasonal influenza programme, a monthly count of the number of patients aged two or three years (but not aged less than two years or aged four years or over) who have received a seasonal influenza vaccination within the reporting period.
TIA seasonal influenza programme, a count of patients, identified as at risk with a transient ischemic attack (TIA) diagnosis code in the patient’s record, who have received a seasonal influenza vaccine in the reporting period. This is not a regular collection and will be included in the seasonal influenza vaccination programme in 2020-21
For more information about these collections, please use the data dictionary and supporting information released alongside the data and consult the business rules.
