Mental Health Services Monthly Statistics , Performance February, Provisional March 2023

The Data Quality chapter provides an assessment of the quality of the statistical output of the MHSDS Monthly publication series.  This is set out in reference to the UK Statistics Authority (UKSA) Code of Practice for Official Statistics.

Although the ‘Official Statistics’ designation is stated underneath the publication title above, users should be aware that the designation does not currently apply to this edition of the series.  It does, however, remain applicable to all editions up to and including Performance July 2022.

Unfortunately, a number of providers of MHSDS data have been affected by a recent cyber incident. NHS England has actively worked with these providers to understand how best to resolve any data submission issues that may have occurred as a result. We also continue to encourage affected providers to reach out to [email protected] as well as their regional Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response (EPRR) teams.

Please note that the ASCOF file has been replaced with a new version as the previous version was found to be erroneous. Users who downloaded the original file should discard the original version.

NHS England have uncovered an issue with the DQ VODIM files associated with this publication. The metrics impacted are DQM57 to DQM62. For these metrics, valid values were incorrectly identified as Invalid.

These values have not been removed or updated but should be disregarded by users when using the VODIM files.

Please note that the file labelled 'MHSDS Monthly: End of Year Final February 2023 Restrictive Interventions' has been revised and reissued as version 2 as the originally published version was found to contain January rather than February data.  Users who downloaded the original file should discard it.
