Provisional Patient Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) in England for Hip and Knee Replacement Procedures (April 2022 to March 2023)
Official statistics
Summary
Patients undergoing elective inpatient surgery for hip and knee replacement, funded by the English NHS are asked to complete questionnaires before and after their operations to assess improvement in health as perceived by the patients themselves. This publication is for Provisional Patient Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) in England - April 2022 to March 2023.
Please note that this publication covers a period where health services were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The completion, return and processing of questionnaire data analysed in this publication will have occurred during a period where restrictions on movement and changes to behaviours may have affected response levels.
This provisional publication has been published approximately one month earlier than in previous years. As a result, the cutoff date for questionnaires to be included was also earlier, which may have led to a reduction in the number of questionnaires received. The Score Comparison Tool has not been published yet as there isn't sufficient data to make meaningful comparisons. However, all the underlying data is still available for users to access in the csv files.
