Psychological Therapies: reports on the use of IAPT services, England - July 2021 Final including a report on the IAPT Employment Advisors Pilot
Official statistics, Experimental statistics
Monthly Time Series for Key Measures
An issue has been identified in the CCG data for April and May 2021. This is a result of the recent CCG mergers, which came into effect in April 2021. Some providers have submitted activity under the old (pre-April 2021) CCG codes, and this activity has been mapped to ‘unknown CCG code’, instead of the correct new CCG code.
This is being reviewed and corrected data will be published when it is available.
Please note the timeseries data in this publication was updated on 07 March 2022 to include revised data, for some providers, for the period September 2020 to May 2021. The core data for July 2021 is unaffected. This is following a one-off resubmission exercise that took place in August 2021 and covered the data period September 2020 to May 2021 inclusive.

Summary
This statistical release makes available the most recent Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) monthly data, including activity, waiting times, and outcomes such as recovery.
IAPT is run by the NHS in England and offers NICE-approved therapies for treating people with depression or anxiety. This release also includes experimental statistics from the IAPT Employment Adviser Pilot.
Due to the coronavirus illness (COVID-19) disruption, it would seem that this is affecting the quality and coverage of some of our statistics, such as an increase in non-submissions for some datasets. We are also seeing some different patterns in submitted data. For IAPT, whilst the number of submitters remains unchanged, there is a significant change in the rates for recovery and improvement since pre-Covid-19 months.
Several measures have been excluded from Employment Adviser csv data file for April 2021 due to data quality issues. The excluded measures are: EA112, EA115, EA118, EA121 and EA124.
We hope this information is helpful and would be grateful if you could spare a couple of minutes to complete a short customer satisfaction survey. Please use the survey in the related links to provide us with any feedback or suggestions for improving the report.
Figure 2 update: The value for completed course of treatment was incorrectly displaying the value for treatment ended (144,868). This has been corrected to 58,655
