Error in Quarter 3, 2022/23 data for Sub Integrated Care Board – 00N (South Tyneside)
Sub Integrated Care Board – 00N (South Tyneside) have informed us that their data for Q3 2022/23 is erroneous. This was due to local system errors and South Tyneside have been unable to obtain the correct data.

Women known to be smokers at time of delivery
Percentage known to be smokers by year
8.6% of pregnant women were known to be smokers at the time of delivery during quarter 3 of 2022-2023.
This is a decrease from 9.1% in the previous quarter (Q2).
The current national ambition is to achieve a level of 6% or less by 2022.
Percentage known to be smokers by Sub Integrated Care Board Location (Sub-ICB)
In quarter 3 of 2022/23, the lowest proportions of women known to be smokers at time of delivery were in NHS North West London ICB - W2U3Z (3.2%), NHS South East London ICB - 72Q (4.3%) and NHS North East London ICB - A3A8R (4.3%).
6 Sub-ICBs had proportions above 15%. Those with the highest were NHS North East and North Cumbria ICB - 00N (25.6%), NHS Lancashire and South Cumbria ICB - 00R (19.6%) and NHS Humber and North Yorkshire ICB - 03H (19.4%).
Data was received from all CCGs for quarter 3.

Percentage known to be smokers by Sub Integrated Care Board Location, compared with the national ambition
In quarter 3 of 2022/23, 9 out of 106 submitting Sub-ICBs met the national ambition of 6% or less.
In the London NHS England region, it was achieved by 5 out of 5 Sub-ICBs, but only by 4 Sub-ICBs outside of London.
