Introduction
The stage at diagnosis data is critical for the assessment of early cancer diagnosis. The data collected can be used to inform the NHS long term plan including the ambition to diagnose 75% of cancers at stages 1 or 2 by 2028, with the eventual aim that 55,000 more people each year will survive their cancer for at least 5 years after diagnosis.
Access the NHS long term plan on the NHS website and find out more about the earlier diagnosis ambition.
Case-mix adjusted percentage of cancers diagnosed at stages 1 and 2 by CCG in England
This publication is an Official Statistic [note 1].
It presents the 1- and 3- year unadjusted and case-mix adjusted ‘percentage of all cancers diagnosed at stages 1 and 2’ indicator nationally and at Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) level.
The unadjusted percentage of cancers diagnosed at each stage is also provided by cancer site/group and deprivation quintile.
It also presents the 1-year rolling unadjusted ‘percentage of all cancers diagnosed at stages 1 and 2’ indicator (known as the ‘75% ambition’ indicator) nationally and at Cancer Alliance level. When data are available, this is updated each quarter on the stage a diagnosis data page.
The publication and data file can be found on Case-mix Adjusted Percentage of Cancers Diagnosed at Stages 1 and 2 by CCG in England collection page.
The interactive tool can be found on the stage at diagnosis data page.
