NHS Apply for Care ID release 3.7.0

This is to notify you that release 3.7.0 will be completed on 9 April 2025.

For applicants

We’ve restricted the number of times an applicant can request a security code, or enter it incorrectly, to 6 times before the inviter must resend the invite email.

We’ve updated the application error page content to become more relevant to the issue the applicant has encountered, and provide them with better instructions for steps to take. 

For ID checkers

On ID checker pages, the name at the top of the application displays the name entered by the RA, rather than that entered by the applicant, as the RA name appears in the CIM profile, which the ID checker needs to see during the verification process.

If you have an RA manager or agent role and you would like to request a new domain to be added, check the CIS allow-list first, and then complete a webform request.

Errors after the release

There is a small chance that after this release, visitors to Apply for Care ID may receive a blank screen or loading error. If this happens, please try these steps:

• force a reload of the page - ctrl F5
• clear your browsers cache - a quick way to do this is Ctrl+Shift+Delete
